Billing systems create invoices from data and ideally send them right away. Microsoft’s Word, Excel and Access are common tools to do the job. Sometimes, parts of the invoice creation are already automated, many times however, the majority of the work is still done manually, because the invoicing required data from outside the system used for doing it or because calculations seem to be too complicated to be done automatically.
In most cases, this is totally unnecessary and even worse, it is error prone. An automated procedure is easier than you might think, is more reliable and saves precious time.
